Excitement over the Soul Movie From Disney-Pixar

THe pulley household is counting down the days to watch the movie soul

Have you watched the trailer?

What is it that makes you…YOU? This November, Pixar Animation Studios’ all-new feature film “Soul” introduces Joe Gardner (voice of Jamie Foxx) – a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22 (voice of Tina Fey), who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions. Directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter (“Inside Out,” “Up”), co-directed by Kemp Powers (“One Night in Miami”) and produced by Academy Award nominee Dana Murray, p.g.a. (Pixar short “Lou”), Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” opens in U.S. theaters on November 20, 2020.

We’ve missed both going to see a movie and going to visit our place, Disneyland. What about you? What are you missing? Have you found yourself binging Netflx, Hulu, Youtube and want something NEW? Yah, us too…When Joe found out there was a new Disney/Pixar movie Soul coming out this November & the main character shared the same name as him “Joe Gardner” we had to look for the trailer… let me tell you WE CAN’T WAIT to watch the full film.

Disney and Pixar have both tackled life changing, difficult subjects that let’s be real aren’t always the easiest for even adults to talk about (think Bambi, Up, Inside Out and Lion King to name a few) but they always seem to do it in a way that makes the viewer feel safe and ends up teaching a valuable lesson.  The subject matter of afterlife that the movie soul is tackling is done in a way that both parents and children can enjoy, in typical Disney fashion and we are all about that!

You know there is going to be a few laughs, a few tears during the movie Soul with the lineup of cast members, ranging from Jamie Foxx to Phylicia Rashad and Tina Fey. Both Joe and I got the vibes of the movie Inside out, even the way some of the characters look reminded us of Inside Out when we found the initial photos of 22 played by Tina Fey.

I really look forward to see how the complexity of the afterlife and the playfulness of Disney comes together in this movie…. and am curious, will we get a new Disney Ride integration in the parks from this movie?  I mean Disneyland in California obviously won’t be open by the release of the movie (here in Contra Costa County we may only have the option to watch the movie at the drive in theaters the way things are lookin now) but Disney World could do some fun things with the characters from this movie!

After we watched the trailer for the movie Soul we knew it would be a hit, so we ordered the Funko Pop! collection for our shop site. You can now shop the collection, ready to ship in 48 business days or less.

Let me know if you watched the trailer and plan to watch it in the comments. If you do plan to watch it – what will that look like for you Covid-19 style?
